Who the assessment is for
Telehealth autism assessments are available for all ages and explore whether a child or adult meets current diagnostic criteria, including DSM-5-TR. The assessment considers social communication, patterns of behaviour and sensory sensitivities in the context of developmental history.
Package fee: $1,990
The intake appointment (1 hour) gathers developmental, social, emotional, educational, occupational and cognitive history. Previous reports and records are reviewed where available.
Two assessment sessions
- Clinical interviews and telehealth-compatible assessment measures selected for the individual
- MIGDAS-2 is used for telehealth autism assessment, alongside developmental history and other information relevant to the individual
- Functional capacity assessment where relevant, such as ABAS-3
- Executive functioning, social responsiveness and sensory measures where relevant, such as SP-2, SRS-2 and ASRS
- Clinically indicated ADHD measures may be incorporated at no additional cost, such as Conners-4 or CAARS
- Collateral information from parents, partners, teachers, employers or other relevant informants where appropriate
Results appointment · 30–60 minutes
The results appointment (30–60 minutes) includes detailed feedback, a comprehensive written report, and guidance on educational adjustments, workplace support or treatment planning as relevant.
Included questionnaires
This package includes all standard questionnaires: parent and school questionnaires for children, or questionnaires completed by the adult being assessed and a significant other.
Questionnaires for an additional informant—for example, another parent in separated families—incur an extra fee. The cost will be confirmed before these are arranged.
Assessment reports
An assessment report does not guarantee access to the NDIS or a particular funding outcome.
Telehealth assessment for young children
Young children are assessed through video appointments with parental involvement. Videos provided by parents also help inform the assessment, offering opportunities to observe the child’s behaviour and interactions in everyday settings.
